African-American Business and Civic Leaders raise $150,000 in support of Toni Preckwinkle for Mayor

Press Release
Mar 15 2019

Today, mayoral candidate Toni Preckwinkle announced that African-American business and civic leaders from around Chicago have raised more than $150,000 to support her candidacy for Mayor. These leaders believe that Preckwinkle has the experience to continue Chicago’s number one position among U.S. cities in new and expanded corporate facilities while also focusing on economic growth and job creation in all neighborhoods.

With one of the most diversified economies in the U.S., Chicago is uniquely qualified to ensure opportunities across multiple industries from the high growth tech sector employing over 143,000 people to minority businesses like Next Level Health, providing health services on the South and West sides of Chicago.

Toni plans to triple the city’s investment in small business microloans and will recruit the city’s banking partners to support this effort.
